Imagine what it will feel like to not worry about leaking wee, dashing to the toilet or feeling uncomfortable down below.

Do you dream of bouncing on your kid’s trampoline?

Would you like to enjoy running without wearing pads?

Maybe there is an activity that you’ve stopped altogether because you know you will have an accident?

You deserve to feel strong, confident and happy.

It’s time to stop searching online for quick fixes and start your journey back to pelvic floor happiness

Come with me and I’ll guide you every step of the way.

There’s no quick fix

…but there IS so much we can do!

I remember when my pelvic floor first let me down. I was devastated! I tried the usual route of trying Kegels but they didn’t work for me.

That’s when I started to research and study the way our whole body works in relation to the pelvic floor.

I just knew there had to be a way to help my pelvic floor muscles by looking at how my body worked as a whole.

I went on such a journey of discovery and learned how to realign, stretch and strengthen my body to help my pelvic floor muscles work.

And I did it. I rehabilitated my pelvic floor with a combination of corrective exercise, breathing techniques and lifestyle changes.

I can help you too.

Clare

Are you confused about how to do pelvic floor exercises?

One of the biggest barriers to improving pelvic floor health is knowing which pelvic floor exercises to do and how to do them. Most women have been told to squeeze and release multiple times a day. This seems to be the only guidance provided to women and it only touches the surfaces of the work that’s actually required. Read my blog about pelvic floor exercises and whether they are effective.

How this approach helps your pelvic floor

We start with your alignment, working from the feet and moving up through all your major muscles.

Every part of your body and the way it moves has an affect on how the pelvic floor muscles work. It’s important that your body is mobile and strong and that you learn how to relax it too. Because sometimes, the problem with your pelvic floor can be that it’s too tight rather than too weak!

We focus on releasing tension as well as building strength. It’s a whole body and mind approach because we’re all beautifully connected and our mind and bodies work together.

We also look at your lifestyle and tackle habits and activities that could be making your symptoms worse. Through this lifestyle coaching you will be able to make positive changes that make a big difference to your symptoms.

I’m here to help you

  • Stop leaking wee when you sneeze, laugh or jump
  • Understand how to integrate more movement into your daily routine
  • Develop your own body awareness so that you can always feel confident in your own body
  • Enjoy all of the things in life you love without worrying about your pelvic floor
  • Get stronger, more mobile and feel confident and happy

I’ve rehabilitated my own pelvic floor after years of problems. With some changes to my daily habits and a focus on my whole body (not just my pelvic floor)

I was able to regain function in my pelvic floor.

I learned which areas of my body needed realigning, stretching and strengthening. Becoming aware of habits that made my symptoms worse enable me to make small changes to my lifestyle and integrate move movement to benefit my pelvic floor.

I’ve been teaching yoga since 2017 and have developed a specialist interest in pelvic floor and core rehabilitation.

My approach to yoga is very different as I teach in a way that is sustainable and safe for the body. With a focus on mobility rather than flexibility.

I know this approach works because it worked on me! That’s why I want to help you feel happy and confident again.

This course is for you if you:

  • have tried many different ways to improve your pelvic floor and nothing has worked
  • Sit down a lot during the day
  • Are willing to change and do the homework to integrate new movements into your daily life (don’t worry I’ll help you figure out how to fit it into your busy schedule too)
  • Have been suffering for a long time
  • Don’t know if you’re doing the right pelvic floor exercises
  • If you’ve had children, not had children, peri-menopausal, post menopausal, or are a young women.
  • Want to enjoy your life without the fear of leaking wee!

This course isn’t for if you:

  • Like spending your hard earned money on sanitary pads
  • Don’t mind smelling of wee
  • Are happy to accept that pelvic floor problems are a natural part of aging (by the way it isn’t)
  • Just want a quick fix without doing any work yourself
  • Want your younger female relatives to suffer with pelvic floor problems too
  • Have never leaked wee, or have a prolapse or have never ever thought about your pelvic floor EVER! (If that’s you, hooray. I’m pleased for you.)

So want do you think? Are you ready to make your pelvic floor a priority or are you going to keep spending your cash on pads and hoping your pelvic floor exercises will one day work?

Here are some stories from women just like you.

Rachel’s story

“I had a long first birth experience with my son. I was induced, had an epidural, forceps and practically every other medical intervention known to man, bar C-section. I was left with a long road to being fully healed, and a minor prolapse. I was referred to physio and joined the MY pelvic floor course. The hospital physio treatment is currently on hold because of COVID, but I’m happy to say the pelvic floor course has really helped me in terms of awareness of the different muscles involved. The exercises and advice Clare has given me have helped me in terms of confidence, knowledge and comfort. Thank you!”

Sam’s story

“I just wanted to email you to say thank you for your committed and super helpful guidance and teachings. I do feel a difference and I am challenging myself to walk downstairs using both feet (instead of holding the bannister and leading with right leg one foot at a time) with great success. I have over the last 4 years (aged 44 then) changed from being a relatively fit gym goer, 5 sessions per week, and leisurely swimmer with no pelvic floor issues to a 48 year old with limited mobility and pelvic floor hell menopausal woman with a fibromyalgia diagnosis. It has been really traumatic and debilitating. Slowly but surely I do feel stronger already.”

Dierdre’s story

“Just finished a 30 minute consultation with my women’s physio. I told her about my discussions with you and she confirmed that my x rays show that I do have a tense pelvic floor! So pleased I found you as she’s pleased with my progress.”

And some more comments from women just like you:

“I now have awareness of the way that things like my monthly cycle, clothing and sitting position impact on my pelvic floor. I didn’t know there was a link before”

“I feel I can hold more urine”

“I can now enjoy jumping on my kids’ trampoline”

“I feel like the urgency and leaking has lessened”

“I feel stronger and more aware”

“I feel like the course has really helped me to develop a “whole body” approach to pelvic floor health, and it’s made me think much more about posture and alignment.”

About me

Clare Makin

"I believe that everyone can benefit from a safe and sustainable yoga practice. I carefully create inclusive yoga classes that focus on strength, mobility and balance. We all have different bodies, different abilities and different goals. Each person's yoga practice is personal to them and my role is to guide you on your journey.

I've been practising yoga for over 20 years and in 2016 decided that I wanted to expand my knowledge further so decided to train as a yoga teacher. Since then I have completed 2 teacher trainings in 'traditional hatha yoga' and 'yoga with a focus on the science of movement.'

I've loved the power of movement since childhood when I studied ballet, tap and disco dance. I've always been fascinated in how our bodies move and how we can learn new ways of using our body which benefit our whole wellbeing.

My interest in women's health started when I rehabilitated my pelvic floor with a full body approach. I learned how to realign, stretch and strengthen my body to improve the function of my pelvic floor. Now I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned with others!"
